Caritas, Georgia

.

In spite of their turbulent history, Georgians were able to preserve the vigour and vitality of their unique culture. Georgian traditional dances are a live history book which gathers the art and culture from each one of this country's regions. Children from the Caritas Day Centre in Tbilisi are from an early age taught the magic of these dances. The beautiful costumes and graceful feminine movements represent Georgia’s natural landscapes and women’s perseverance. They are coupled with the rough and technical movements of the men, representing specific scenes of wedding, war, shepherding or city life.
Caritas Georgia aims at promoting human development and social justice, bringing relief to vulnerable and disadvantaged people, and  encouraging their self-responsibility and dignity.
