Nanhi Dunya - The International Movement of Children & Their Friends was founded in 1946. Children and youth including those with special needs from Dehradun Valley in North India are given opportunities to reveal latent talents by creating plays, dance dramas while designing props and costumes in house. In themes such as Christmas, Panchtantra, Nature and so on children are encouraged to write scripts improving creative skills. For this year’s Brave Kids, the group will present ‘Tarang’ - temple stories in the form of kathak, a semi classical dance form (with bol and dholak - Indian drums), original Sanskrit mantra, West India folk dances and songs from the states of Punjab, Gujrat, Maharasthra and Uttarakhand. All the costumes are hand made by the teachers with traditional elements and jewellery.
