Chorea means a dancing song – a perfect union of dance, music and poetic song. Romanian name Hora comes from this ancient Greek word. This is a popular dance performed in a big, close, spinning circle. To the accompaniment of music, dancers hold hands and follow a sequence of three steps forward and one step back. In the Romanian village of Tismana the dance ritual is handed down from generation to generation. Its inhabitants- surrounded by natural border of mountains, rivers and lakes- cherish the traditions of their forefathers. Wrocław viewers will have the exceptional opportunity to see a performance by a group of young dancers who represent the unique Romanian style. The leader of the group is Jerca Constantin.
