In Zimbabwe more than 1.6 million children suffer from the consequences of HIV/AIDS epidemics. ROKPA Zimbabwe offers help in overcoming difficulties by supporting on-going projects such as schools for disabled children, orphanages, and various small home businesses. It also conducts its own operations including therapy for women with AIDS, education for therapists of disabled children, courses in gardening, sponsorship of vegetable seedlings. One of the supported organizations is Chiedza Child Care Centre, where children may spend their free time in an stimulating environment, eat a hot meal, gain knowledge and learn skills which will make them “self-dependent” in adult life. The organization formed an artistic group which helps to relieve the pain and stress of everyday life and which offers an outlet for fun and relaxation. The leader of the group is Olina Mashinge.
