Mongolfieri Theatre Circus, RUSSIA

Creating a better reality.

The Mongolfieri Theatre Circus from Saint Petersburg created a unique place for children, where everybody may come and absorb its creative atmosphere. The theatre’s name comes from a balloon filled up with hot air, which aeronauts use to see and examine the world from the bird-eye perspective. In a similar way, the pupils of this organisation are trying to raise above Russia’s reality to find their own artistic way and draw from it inspiration to understand contemporary problems and social issues. Mongolfieri is then nothing else but a clever way to integrate adults and children in one common goal: creating universal space for realising one’s potential in a creative way. For two and a half years of the theatre’s existence, it has been an artistic environment for intellectually disabled children, children’s homes residents, the youngest children from multi-children families and the ones, who usually, due to financial reasons, are not able to participate in any extracurricular classes. “Art is the shortest distance between two people” – says the group’s leader, Larisa Markina. This is how the children from Saint Petersburg will come to Brave Kids for the first time
