Capoeira to is a traditional Brazilian martial art, where dance harmoniously combines acrobatic evolutions with sudden and unexpected attacks. Today, this type of expression enjoys popularity in the whole world. It is not only a martial art, but also a manifest of cultural difference. Capoeira classes are a creative way of spending free time in the rhythm of music and singing: physical effort reduces aggression, team work teaches social behaviours, and martial art rules strengthen the moral code, which is very important for the worldview and self-esteem of the children, who are deprived of having natural development possibility in their families. Capoeira teachers are former children in care of children’s homes, and this fact convinces their students that this path leads to full professionalism. The group’s leader, Nicia Angelo, who works with children on a theatrical play with elements of Capoeira, before coming to Poland, added English to the everyday classes; so the young Brazilians will be able to freely communicate with their peers at the Brave Festival.
