Pavãozinho is a slum located on the border between the famous districts of Ipanema and Copacabana, in Rio de Janeiro. Here, social contrast is very evident as lower class residents live close to one of the richest neighborhoods in the country. The on-site educational project Mais Caminhos (more paths) hosts creative after-school classes for children from the favelas. The group of children will present three dynamic dance styles born in times of slavery. It will be a mixture between afro descendant and native Indian cultures: maracatu, passinho and the flowing martial art of capoeira.
