Aware that our beloved encounter could not happen physically this year, we decided to embrace the advantages of technology, and gather Brave Kids participants in a remote collaborative project. Brave Kids is Wrocław- based project with global range!!!
Young people from all over the world, who participated in different editions of Brave Kids, will collaborate in the creation of a video-journal that will shed some light on the questions presented above, and give a glimpse into the lives of young people despite the challenges of the pandemic. The results will be presented in a video loop during “Brave Kids under Wroclaw sky” Festival, in August 2021.
The past year was an arduous challenge. The isolation brought by the outbreak of Covid-19 demanded a quick and drastic adaptation. As the crisis erupted, children and youth were deeply affected by the changes in socialization and economical disparities. Living in this new reality at such an important stage in their lives, we cannot help but wonder how are young people feeling and adpting, who they are becoming, what hopes and dreams do they have for the future and wether we, adults, know what they want and need.
- We were very touched by the initiative of the Ukuleles for Peace group, which remotely created the recording “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin. You can see the clip on our youtube at the link.
- Together with the Film House from Gdynia, we were involved in creating video diaries on the lives of children and adolescents worldwide during the Covid-19 pandemic.
- We used the form of video diaries to create a film summarizing the edition of “Brave Kids 2020 – through the eyes of children” – see the link.
The project is co-financed by the Municipality of Wrocław
