The idea of Brave Kids

– an educational and artistic project that has been developing not only in Wrocław since 2009, but also in many other cities Polish and abroad – is a MEETING. And this is a special meeting, because its most important dimension is DIVERSITY in all possible aspects, both individual and cultural, linguistic and social. These two most important elements of the project (meeting and diversity) are usually made up of participants from distant corners of the world and cultures.

How does it work?

Brave Kids are artistic and development activities for children's and youth artistic groups or individuals interested in a creative meeting with others. Workshop classes are conducted by experienced Brave Kids instructors, based on the "children teach children" work model. It is based on discovering the potential and talents of individual participants, who then share their skills with others.
The workshops include exercises supporting the expression and freedom of creative activity of individual participants through artistic elements: movement, dance, art and music, as well as team games and games. The idea of the workshops is to strengthen the sense of self-confidence, develop the ability to cooperate and creatively act in a group, communication and empathy.

The final performances of Brave Kids prepared at the end of artistic workshops in each of the Brave Kids cities are presented to the public.

The originator of the project and the main organizer of Brave Kids is the Wrocław Association of Theatre Culture Song of the Goat, which invites partners – non-governmental organizations and cultural institutions – to co-organize it in each of the cities.

Brave Kids was inspired by an extraordinary man, Dr. Akong Tulku Rinpoche,

a Tibetan lama, doctor and philanthropist, founder of the international humanitarian organization ROKPA International, which since 1980 has been running aid and educational projects, m.in in Nepal, Tibet, South Africa, Zimbabwe, as well as in Europe.

Dr. Akong Rinpoche has always said that children's development should be given special attention, because they will shape our world in the future, and their meeting will be successful when we give them the opportunity to exchange skills and the freedom to act creatively. From these main ideas come another – devoting attention to the diversity of cultures and traditions, cultivating the native language, exchanging experiences of leaders.
