The Tibetan word ROKPA means help and friend. This international humanitarian organization was founded in 1980 by a Tibetan physician and meditation master, Dr. Akonga Tulku Rinpoche, an actress Lea Wyler and a lawyer Dr. Vie Wyler. Their task is to provide support to people in need in the farthest corners of the world and to promote respect for other cultures. The work of ROKPA focuses primarily on education, medicine and nutrition.
